I really hope they don't add additional tools to navigate, since the way it works currently is a lot of fun and having more help other than the map, compass and landmarks etc. I mean you know you are not in the north east part of the map when you left a port in the soutwest. But really you know where you left off and what basic direction you were heading, there isn't much areas where you could be. Now if you get completely lost, then it's another thing. It's really easy to navigate by just checking the map and heading in the direction you need to go, according to the compass. so I don't see why you would need a compass on the map.
