Headbutt ThemĪ great move to pull on close-range enemies, like those who are holding you close, is to headbutt them instead of punch. It's not a guaranteed escape, and there's no perfect way to do it, but leaning in different directions and continually pulling away should eventually force the opponent to let go, giving you a second to reposition and get the upper hand.

One of the easiest (and perhaps most intuitive) ways to break free of a neverending hold is to rapidly press the jump button. In that case, many of these tactics still work effectively because of the extremely close range and ability to reposition oneself. Sometimes the player is the one who doesn't want to let go as their opponent might be trying to throw them off the side of the stage. It's not necessarily a death sentence to get into an inescapable hold, though, and the game offers multiple effective ways to break out. One of the most frustrating things in Gang Beasts is being unable to escape an opponent who is dead-set on never letting go. If all else fails, it's better to force a tie than to accept defeat. By using methods to escape their vice grip players can reposition themselves and create advantages. One of the most annoying things to deal with is opponents who just won't let go, though. There are a handful of basic Gang Beast moves in the game – Headbutting, Jumping, Punching, Grabbing, and Kicking to name a few – all of which can be combined with each other to create devastating combos.

Updated Septemby Erik Petrovich: While it's not much of a competitive game at its core, Gang Beasts offers players a surprising number of ways to evade and outplay their opponents. Unlike most special moves in fighting games, these started life as mere accidents in development like the consequences of the basic movement controls, but as the game evolved, the developers leaned into them to create some interesting opportunities. Recommending Gang Beasts to you is easy because even though it has a few misses here and there in the end it's fun, full of humor, and another title at an reasonable price to add to your Xbox library.Gang Beasts is one of the lightest and most fun brawling games out there. Despite the little issues you will return back to this game over and over because it offers you a variety of environments and they all provide action. There isn’t a huge amount of content and the controls being fun can frustrate you a little if played for too long. I will say that the game is best played in short bursts because it does still get repetitive somewhat quickly. Everything from movement to the great combat elements is kinda silly and when you combine that with the presentation of the game you end up with the almost perfect party game. Thankfully Gang Beasts finally arrived on the Xbox One and while it's not perfect, we can all enjoy a laugh and fun in the gameplay. I enjoyed the combat because not only is the movement fun but taking out your friends is always rewarding so you can trash talk during the process. Gang Beasts does have a bit of a learning curve to say the least, and while I never thought this game was going to release on the Xbox One it Gang Beasts does have a bit of a learning curve to say the least, and while I never thought this game was going to release on the Xbox One it finally has.
